In 1963, Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black wrote “Freedom of speech means that you shall not do something to people either for the views they have, or the views they express, or the words they speak or write” and Shakespeare wrote in The Merchant of Venice, “The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose…O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!” Evil, sin, morality and wrong doing has been changed to “social issues” rather than being called the ilk that it is and let us look where it’s taken our society. A police shooting regardless of the facts & testimony brings in politicians, Al Sharpton, protests, the burning of communities, mobs robbing stores, burning cars and yes even shooting police in the neck. More black babies are aborted in the US than any other race, so where’s the aforementioned when an unarmed, innocent, black baby with no criminal record, is butchered and vacuumed out of their mother? Be I alone among the pro-lifers at one of their demonstrations and they would scream woman’s rights, the law etc.
The court threw out a sodomy case that was witnessed by a policeman through a window between two consenting adults in the US Supreme Court case, Bowers v. Hardwick. Straight people don’t care what straight people are doing in the privacy of their own homes so what makes the politicians, major newspapers & networks and same sex activists think that anyone wants to know what they’re doing? Some folks ask “What Would Jesus Do”? Wouldn’t Jesus love them? The answer is undoubtedly, “yes” but let’s tell the rest of the story. In John 8:4 an adulteress is brought before Jesus and Jesus is asked how she should be judged. Jesus does indeed say “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” After the ashamed crowd leaves, Christ questions the woman and then peacefully instructs her to “Go and sin no more”. Nowhere in scripture does Christ lecture the crowd that “they are on the wrong side of history” and that Christ marches in parades, displays banners etc. honoring her lifestyle. Some people say the times have changed, I disagree. The times are the same it’s the attitudes that have changed. Henry David Thoreau wrote “…most legislators, politicians, lawyers, ministers, and office-holders — serve the state chiefly with their heads; and, as they rarely make any moral distinctions, they are as likely to serve the devil, without intending it, as God.” We have entered an age where “…telling the truth is a revolutionary act – truth has become the new hate speech & society has become so fake that truth actually bothers people”. Psalm 97:10 reads “Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.” Our nation needs more Divine mercy & forgiveness and less social correctness, let us then love all sinners but hate sin and evil.
